How would the sound travel without a medium?
This topic is one of my fav’s. The Apology for this is ridiculous, claiming the sound traveled through the handle, the glove, and up the arm.
Can it travel that path? Yes.
But in doing so, it muffles out the higher frequencies, making it just a low-pitch thud.
Also, if it happened so resolutely for a few examples, then it would ALSO happen for MOST cases (or MANY) where it happened at a much lower volume.
But this is a case of either “full unfiltered sound” or “none at all” - which does not comport with the Apollogy… But does 100% align to “the sound guy forgot to mute the mic”, which would produce this “rare occurrence” of either “hear it resolutely, or not at all - -no in between”.
So there isn’t much room for Apollogists to wiggle here.
